REACH Beyond Domestic Violence

  • REACH serves 27 cities and towns throughout the MetroWest and Greater Boston areas of Massachusetts. To promote healthy relationships and end domestic violence, REACH focuses on four key areas of intervention.

  • Advocates are bilingual in English and Spanish and have access to a service that can provide translation in many languages.

Victim Witness Advocate

  • Providing advocacy and resources to victims of crimes as well as to others who may be witness to a crime. Upholding the rights of victims of crime is a high priority, and the Victim Assistance Program is a vital part of the District Attorney's Office. Victim Assistance Advocates ensure that crime victims, their family members and witnesses are fully informed of their rights as mandated by Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 258B -The Victim Bill of Rights. SAFEPLAN

  • SAFEPLAN is a partnership between the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance (MOVA), the courts, and other criminal justice and social service agencies. Free assistance with restraining orders.

MOVA (Mass office of Victim Assistance)

  • MOVA provides assistance to crime victims and connects them with local providers available to assist them. Further, MOVA provides training opportunities for service providers to ensure those who work with victims and survivors are compassionate, informed, and are able to collaborate with one another to meet victim and survivor needs.

Casa Myrna

  • Casa Myrna is Boston’s largest provider of shelter and supportive services to survivors of domestic violence, providing safety, resources, advocacy and information since 1977. We operate SafeLink, the statewide domestic violence hotline, and promote domestic and dating violence prevention through awareness and education. All of our supports are provided to survivors free of charge. We support survivors of any race, ethnicity, language, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, disability, age, and sexual orientation.

The Second Step

  • The Second Step provides free, trauma-informed services for survivors of domestic violence throughout Greater Boston and beyond. We are dedicated to ending the cycle of abuse with our wraparound support, including safety planning, legal services, counseling, housing stabilization, support groups, and community education.

Domestic Violence Action Committee (DVAC)

  • The Needham Domestic Violence Action Committee was established in 1996. Its mission is to raise awareness of the existence of domestic abuse, educate the community about prevention methods, and support those who are impacted by it. The goal of our work is to ensure that every individual feels safe within our community.

Culturally Specific Domestic Violence Resources

Jewish Family & Children Services

  • We operate the largest kosher food pantry in New England, offer culturally sensitive services to survivors of domestic abuse, and care for more than 400 Holocaust survivors who deserve to live their final years in comfort. We also offer meaningful volunteer opportunities that enable people to live our Jewish values of caring and compassion and transmit them across generations. If you need help, but don't know where to start, call or email our Access Team at 781-647-JFCS (5327).

Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS)

  • Our mission is to improve the lives of Portuguese speakers in Massachusetts and help them become contributing, active participants in American society while maintaining a strong ethnic identity and a sense of community. We work with and for the Brazilian, Cabo Verdean, Portuguese and other Portuguese-speaking communities to increase access and remove barriers to health, education and social services through direct services, advocacy, leadership, and community development.

Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence (ATASK)

  • ATASK is a safe, confidential, and private organization you can call even if you or your family have no immigration papers or documents. Help is available for everyone, even for women who are single, pregnant, have children, or don’t have family. You do not have to speak English to call – we have services in many Asian languages.

Our Deaf Survivors Center (ODSC)

  • ODSC, Inc. serves individuals impacted by domestic and sexual violence in Deaf communities by providing culturally sustaining resources and services. ODSC, Inc. aims to create a compassionate community that centers individual self-determination of every person who has been or is being affected by domestic and sexual violence.

SAHELI (South Asian and Arab)

  • Saheli offers non-judgemental & culturally sensitive domestic & sexual violence services that are vital to the well-being of South Asian and Arab client survivors and their children.

LGBTQ DV Awareness Foundation

  • Supporting LGBTQ victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse through awareness, education and breaking down barriers to accessing help.

The Network LaRed (LGBTQ+)

  • The Network/La Red is a survivor-led, social justice organization that works to end partner abuse in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, kink, polyamorous, and queer communities. Rooted in anti-oppression principles, our work aims to create a world where all people are free from oppression. We strengthen our communities through organizing, education, and the provision of support services.
